PACKING ADVICE

Hire movers. Rarely does it pay off to rent a truck yourself, work hard moving your things, return the truck fueled, and still realize a significant saving. Start packing early. Packing just a few cardboard boxes every day for 3 weeks before you move will make a big difference to the amount of effort required from you on the day of the move. On moving day the house should be full of cardboard boxes and furniture ONLY. Use packing materials. Newspaper will not protect your possessions as well as bubble wrap or tissue packing paper. Use the right size cardboard boxes. Matching the correct box to the items being packed is important. Label each and every box. This simple task can make a big difference when moving house. When in doubt use more tissue paper or bubble wrap. Fill out each box to protect the contents. If the items can shake, rattle or roll, use more packing materials to cushion the contents.
