| PACKING ADVICE |
|
| You may well laugh, but packing and unpacking boxes can bring tears to your eyes! It's the bit everyone dreads and can turn moving house into a nightmare if not done properly. Before you do anything, make a checklist. Create a spreadsheet with a list of numbers and some space to write the contents. Give each box a number and list the contents. Not everything needs to be unpacked as soon as you arrive at the new house. If boxes contain essential items, mark them PRIORITY A on your checklist. If they are important, but not crucial, mark them PRIORITY B on your checklist. If they contain items you're unlikely to need right away, mark them PRIORITY C on your checklist. Buy your packing materials three weeks before moving house. Make sure you have a healthy supply of packing materials. Use moving house as an opportunity to sort out your possessions. Decide which items items can be taken to a charity shop, sold at a car boot sale, or offered to your friends. |
