You’ve finally agreed the sale of your property and can now start looking forward to life in your new home.
First though you’ll have to confront the daunting task of shifting all your stuff from one place to another.
Your first dilemma will be whether or not to use a removal company.
Beware When Someone Says Free
Whether or not you do, you’ll need STRONG RELIABLE MOVING BOXES. If you do decide to use a removal company, they’ll almost certainly offer to supply the boxes. They won’t be free but may be included in the overall price, so get a figure for the move with and without the moving boxes.
If you decide to use their boxes, make sure they’re new. A lot of removal companies will reuse their boxes again and again. This isn’t a problem if they’ve only been used once or twice before but if they’ve been used several times, their strength may have been compromised and might not offer the necessary protection to your belongings. The only way to be sure is if they’re new.
You Get What You Pay For
You’re other option is to buy the boxes separately. That way you can order a few weeks before your move and start packing up slowly. You’ll be amazed how long it will take. Anyway, what’s it matter if you get ahead. One thing’s certain, if you leave everything until the last minute, you’ll quickly wish you hadn’t! More importantly you won’t want the removal company pestering you to return the boxes after the move whilst you’re trying to unpack and organise your life in your new home.
Tricks Of The Trade
If you search online for moving boxes you’ll be met by a plethora of choice. Whilst choice is good, it also makes us apprehensive and indecisive; a bit like selecting a meal from a menu four pages long!
There’s also a few tricks some companies online like to use to fool you into thinking you’re getting a great deal so try to ignore the number of boxes in a pack until you’ve checked their size and strength. Smaller, single wall boxes naturally cost less but are often useless for moving house. Equally one size rarely fits all. You’ll want a LARGE MOVING BOX for your clothes and bed linen whilst a SMALL MOVING BOX might be better for your cutlery and plates.
Trust In Reviews
At Boxes for Moving Home we’ve settled on four industry standard sizes. Not only has each box been carefully selected to fulfil a specific task, but each size is modular to the other to allow you to make the most of the space available when loading the van or putting your stuff into storage.
Don’t take my word for it, though, read our INDEPENDENT CUSTOMER REVIEWS.
